Flexmls Update Makes Watermarking Digitally Altered Photos Easier - METRO MLS Blog

Metro MLS members now have an easier way to confirm when a watermark has been added to a digitally altered listing photo in Flexmls.

When adding a photo to a listing, the watermark button will now be highlighted in blue once selected. The visual indicator makes it easier for members to know that the photo has been watermarked.

Here is a look at the button you will need to select to add the watermark to photos that are digitally altered.

Metro MLS requires members to add a watermark to photos in Flexmls when a listing photo has been digitally altered. The requirement promotes transparency and helps ensure potential buyers receive an accurate representation of the property.

Under 2025 Wisconsin Act 69, agents must disclose when technology is used to modify listing photos in a way that could mislead consumers. Starting Sept. 1, digitally altered photos without the required watermark will be subject to a $10 sanction if removed, and digitally altered primary photos will incur a $10-per-day sanction until replaced.

The watermark provides a clear indication that a photo has been digitally altered, while the original, unaltered photo allows consumers to see an accurate representation of the property.

The new blue highlight is a small Flexmls update, but it provides an added visual confirmation and makes it easier for members to follow Metro MLS photo requirements.
