The Inside Scoop on Advertising Properties - METRO MLS Blog

The spring market is starting to heat up, and we recognize the market is highly competitive due to the low inventory and continued high demand.

Marketing a property is an essential part of the process. You can advertise yourself, your business and listings belonging to your brokerage. But you cannot advertise in a way that goes against the spirit of cooperation.

Examples of anti-cooperation advertising may include:

  • Weaponize inventory to compel consumers to work with you over your competitors.
  • Advertising non-MLS properties and access to shadow inventory.
  • Advertising listings before the start term on the contract.
  • Advertising listings belonging to a different brokerage without their consent.

Below is an example of a social media post that goes against the spirit of cooperation. Transparency is key, don’t do this.
