The general public typically infers that the person representing the seller is the selling agent, and the person representing the buyer is the buyer’s agent. But in MLS terms, the Selling Agent is the person who represents the buyer in the transaction. They help sell the home and complete the sale. Conversely, the person representing the seller is referred to as the Listing Agent. They list the property on the market.
This can cause confusion when you are changing your listing to Sold. The Selling Member field is required, so remember, in MLS terms, this is the buyer’s agent. If the buyer’s agent is a non-Metro MLS member, you can use the “Non MLS Member” selection.
